Map of Pre-Roman Britain 55 BC-AD 10Tribe of the Parisi

Next to their neighbours, the powerful Brigantes, the Parisi were insignificant in terms of the extent of their territory. However, they seemed to have been more advanced culturally, in their Humberside homelands, and had some effect on the Brigantes. The centre of their territory isn't known, but may have been Brough-on-Humber (the Roman Petuaria).

The later Romano-British kingdom of Ebrauc was an evolution of this tribal territory.

AD 43

The Parisi probably accept the arrival of the Romans alongside the Brigantes.

The Parisi emerge as part of the kingdom of North Britain in the late fourth century.
