Map of the Visigoth & Suevi kingdoms in AD 470 |
The Visigothic kingdom of Tolosa (Toulouse) was created in AD 418 in the province of Gallia Aquitania, a large and rich region stretching from the Lower Loire to the Garonne in south-western Gaul, and during the quickly-shifting politics of the fifth century they expanded to include territory from Nantes to Cadiz, although this high point would be brief.
